Narrative Adventure Game (Cancelled Project - 2017)

Before Learning Stuff Lane was a web series called, Agoro the Phobic Monster. The Quest and Click idea was the bridge between the two, it was my first attempt at game design and the scope outgrew my skill set. I did learn a heap about using Tyranobuilder (a no-code visual novel creator) and despite having no coding experience I managed design some gameplay features that are non-typical for a visual novel. Occasionally people have seen the my dev videos and asked for advice. I would have buried this project but I made this page based on requests.

The game is over but if there's a way to salvage the gameplay features, I'd like to give back. So below are downloads for the standalone executable and a zip archive for the raw project files (500mb size each). Before diving into the data please read the notes below:

DATA NOTES

      These provided files are free. Use and adapt the code provided for personal use or profit (if you need more ironclad guarantees please reach out on my socials). While chatting to the Tyranobuilder community please let them know about Learning Stuff Lane by backlinking to this page, putting my name in your game credits, or just letting me see what you've managed to make. Oh, I'd be stoked if you subscribed to my socials (you'll be glad you did when I get around to posting what I'm working on at the moment). 

 

      There are a bunch of half-completed features, but the groundwork's there and it can be built upon. I worked on the features rather than the story, so please ignore the opening scene - I made it up as I went and it went bad. The game was made on earlier versions of Tyranobuilder, some of the Tyranoscript I used still works but it's been superseded with updates to the core Tyranobuilder software.

THERE'S A TON OF CODE: So below is a List providing file names to directly access the core directory for specific game features. In advance, sorry if chucks of it looks like a hot mess.

To test features, open the scene file and start from the top. Look for the 'PLAY FROM HERE' Label.
